Erbil Governorate

Erbil Governorate ((クルド語:Parêzgeha Hewlêr - پارێزگای ھەولێر) , (アラビア語:محافظة أربيل)) is a governorate in Iraqi Kurdistan. It derives its name from the city of Erbil (Kurdish: ''Hewler''), which is also its capital.
Erbil Governorate covers an area of in the north of Iraq, with an estimated population (in 2003) of 1,314,000 people. It is largely populated by Kurds but has minority populations of Assyrians and Arabs.
